Service Description

This specialized service is designed to significantly improve the clarity and appearance of oxidized, yellowed, hazy, or cloudy plastic headlight lenses. By restoring transparency, we dramatically enhance nighttime visibility and your vehicle's overall aesthetic. We utilize a multi-step abrasive correction, compounding, and polishing approach to correct years of UV damage and environmental exposure. Our customized process typically involves the following: - Surface Preparation: The surrounding paintwork is carefully taped off and protected to prevent any damage during the restoration process. - Graduated Abrasive Correction: We use a sequence of professional-grade abrasives and specialized correction pads, starting with a coarse grade and progressively moving to a fine grade, to effectively remove the damaged, oxidized layer and deep imperfections from the lens surface. - Refinement & Polishing: The lenses are hand-polished with specialized compounds to remove abrasive marks and restore the lens to an optically clear, factory-like finish. - UV Protection Sealant: A durable, ceramic-based sealant or UV-resistant clear coat is professionally applied to the lenses to protect the newly restored surface from future oxidation and prolong the clarity. Performance & Time Estimate - Expected Results: This service is highly effective in restoring clarity and brightness. We commit to delivering the clearest possible results, significantly enhancing light output and appearance. - Service Time: This service typically takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours to complete, depending on the severity of the oxidation. Important Considerations - Internal Damage: Our restoration process addresses the exterior plastic lens only. We cannot correct damage, condensation, cracking, or haze that is present on the inside of the headlight assembly. - Deep Cracks/Scratches: While we can significantly improve light scratches and minor pitting, deep cracks or severe rock damage that penetrate the plastic may not be fully removable. - Curing Requirement: To allow the protective UV sealant to properly bond and cure, we strongly recommend the vehicle not be driven and the headlights not be touched for at least one (1) hour immediately following the completion of the headlight restoration service. Driving or touching the lenses prematurely can cause smudges, scratches, or other marring that can permanently damage the finish.
